Booking a Portrait Session
BOOKING
The sooner the better as things fill up fast. I require a $100 non-refundable retainer with the balance due the day of the session. Currently, I only accept, cheque, e-transfers and cash. I only accept credit card payment for international clients.
SESSION
The session is about 1 - 2 hrs depending on how long everyone lasts, I know the window with little ones and dads (JK) can be short.
PROOFS
About a week after the session you will receive a password-protected proof album for all your images. From this album you are able to choose your 20 images that are included in your package or purchase all the images from the session for an additional fee. The proof album typically contains 50 -100 images. Please note these will only be proofs and your final images will be touched up.
FINAL FILES
Once I’ve got your list it will take about a week to get your final images. You will be provided with a link where you can download the high res files that are included in your package. You will then be able to print the images as you with at any local lab.
PREPARATION
WARDROBE 101
Wear whatever you feel comfortable and confident in. Some client dress up in their “Sunday Best,” while other gravitate towards something more casual. Don’t get too matchy-matchy, play it up with mix of fabrics, patterns and textures. I love layers as well, which also give options for changing up outfits. Just make sure to keep within a bit of a colour pallet and stay away from big logos or cartoon characters. Feel free to get creative with your wardrobe, if you are feeling unsure bring a few items and I can help pick out what would work best. (Limit 1 - 2 outfits per session).

WHAT TO BRING
If you want to bring a favorite blanket, heirloom, or other meaningful props, this is a great way to make your session more unique. That being said I’m not a big fan of props as they may overpower the session, keep it simple and timeless. If there is a activity or interest your family likes to do we can get creative and try to incorporate it into the session without it taking away from your family’s emotion and connection. In-home session make sure to tidy up the main areas, living room, bedrooms and any open areas with great natural light. For little ones, bring a favourite toy and snack…..bribery can go a long way.
TIMING AND LOCATION
Two hours before sunset is the most beautiful, natural lighting for outdoor sessions. I know with little ones this may be hard and I’m happy to work around their schedule/naps times. I like to shoot in natural locations like the outdoors and have lots of great suggestions or can come to your home. I know it’s hard to get out the door with little ones but please show up on time as it will cut into your session. Mountain locations will be subject to a $75 travel fee.
